Dinner, Auction Benefiting Community Food Bank Set For April 16
Food insecurity affects every one in four children and more than 635,000 Oklahomans annually. The 23rd Empty Bowls Hunger Awareness Dinner and Auction is set for Tuesday, April 16, 5:30 p.m. at the Cox Business Center Ballroom to help raise funds for the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.
News On 6 anchor, LeAnne Taylor is emceeing this year’s event.
Each dollar collected at Empty Bowls will help the Food Bank distribute the equivalent of four meals to people who are hungry in eastern Oklahoma. With administrative costs below four percent of the organization’s budget, donors can rest assured the Food Bank will provide a good return on investment with every dollar helping a family or child in need in eastern Oklahoma.
For anyone who can’t attend the event, there are still ways to help feed hungry Oklahomans, such as purchasing raffle tickets for the Pick Your Paradise raffle. Tickets are $50 each or three for $100. The winner gets to choose one vacation package, selecting from New York City, New Orleans, Scottsdale and Sonoma.
