Washington County Holds Vote To Extend Quarter-Cent Sales Tax

Citizens in Washington County will vote Tuesday on extending a quarter-cent sales tax.

The tax will help fund emergency operation centers, jails, the courthouse, and the fair grounds.

The tax could also help pay for economic development in the area.

The sales tax was originally passed 10 years ago, but is set to expire at the end of this year.
