1 Dead, 1 In Critical Condition After Head-On Tulsa Crash
TULSA, Oklahoma - An elderly Vinita man is dead after troopers said he went the wrong way on a Tulsa interstate Tuesday afternoon. Another man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Tulsa Fire, and EMSA responded to the fatality wreck on Interstate 44 at 23rd West Avenue around noon January 7.
Troopers said 80-year-old Harold Collins was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes and eventually crashed head-on with the oncoming traffic. He hit an SUV driven by Lang Mosley, 20, of Pryor.
Mosley was taken to the hospital in critical condition with numerous injuries. Collins was pronounced dead at the hospital with massive injuries.
OHP is investigating the deadly crash.
