Man Accused of Sexually Abusing Babysitter, Cutting Victim

Investigators said a man sexually abused an underage babysitter.

Police in Purcell said, Jorge Beltran, 53, preyed on the victim over the course of a year.

Officers received a call from a concerned individual in February 2019 who had been talking to the juvenile female over the phone.

The concerned individual told police Beltran allegedly raped a babysitter multiple times beginning in June 2018 when the victim was 14 years old.

Police believe it happened at Beltran's house which is just walking distance away from the Purcell school districts football field.

According to court records, during the rapes, Beltran would cut the underage victim with scissors and box knives.

The victim was taken to a children's advocacy center.

“They’re not associated with law enforcement or the district attorney’s office so any disclosure that a child might make during a forensic interview is not coached, it’s not coerced,” said Sgt. Scott Stephens of the Purcell Police Department.

Police said Beltran began harassing the victim and her family after they moved away.

The victim told police Beltran threatened to kill her and "everyone she cared about and her animals."

In 1998 Beltran pleaded no contest in a Cleveland County molestation case involving a 12-year-old girl in Norman.

Police encourage victims of sexual assault to come forward.

“Without the report being made to us whether it be by a victim or an adult, we don't have anything to start with,” said Stephens.

Jorge Beltran has told Purcell police he denies all allegations made.
