Christian Costello, 26, stared straight ahead as an Oklahoma County judge read the accusation against him Tuesday morning.

Costello winced and nodded a little when the judge told him his bond was denied.

He then looked down and kept his gaze averted as the judge told him what to expect with the court process. Not once did he show any emotion.

Right now, Costello is being held in administrative segregation at the Oklahoma County jail, which means he will have limited contact with the other inmates there.

He also will be undergoing a mental health evaluation, even though his family has already publicly stated that he suffers from mental illness, specifically bipolar disorder with psychosis and schizophrenia.

Turns out, Costello and his girlfriend Ginger Raquel Rogers filed a police report in June 2013 against Costello's father, claiming they were being wiretapped and tracked by GPS.

The report states they also claimed their computers had been hacked, and that Christian suspected his father was behind it.

Police arrived at the couple's condo at the Summit Condominiums in northwest Oklahoma City to take the report, but nothing came of it.

A Google search on schizophrenia reveals one of the symptoms patients have are paranoid delusions, or delusions of persecution where they believe that people are out to get them, or the thought that people are doing things when there is no external evidence that such things are taking place.

This appeared to be the case with Costello in this 2013 report, since police found no evidence he and his girlfriend were being hacked or tracked.

The deadly attack on Labor Commissioner Mark Costello by his mentally ill son sent shock waves through the community. Not just that it happened, but that it was so brutal, so vicious.

A court affidavit filed by Oklahoma City police reveals that police interviewed at least 17 witnesses, all of whom stated they observed Christian Costello stabbing his father with a small knife, and causing the injuries that ended up killing him.

Braum's released a statement Tuesday, saying, "Braum’s is making any assistance needed available to all employees who were working and witnessed the attack. It was a rough night for them and we want to provide our employees with whatever support they need."

Christian Costello has yet to be formally charged. That is expected to happen next week.

Mark Costello will lie in repose from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at the state Capitol and a vigil will be held for him at 7 p.m. Thursday at the state Capitol.

A rosary will be held 6:30 p.m. Friday and a traditional mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Both services will be at Saint Monica Catholic Church, 2001 N. Western Ave., in Edmond.
