NORMAN, Oklahoma -- I heard it from a good source Sunday that "junior DE Ronnell Lewis plans to enter the NFL draft." I expect Bob Stoops to support the decision, believing Lewis is ready to make the next step.

Lewis is a prototypical NFL outside linebacker at 6-2 248 pounds with excellent athletic ability. Lewis played eight-man football at Dewar High School.

Mel Kiper has Lewis as his 17th overall pick on his latest "Big Board" Mock Draft.

Kiper's notes: "For me, Lewis is a little like Aldon Smith from last year, a guy who will benefit from a change of scheme. A defensive end at Oklahoma, he'll take his elite athleticism to outside linebacker at the next level. Speed fits the 3-4."
