Tulsa's Gathering Place opens on Saturday, September 8th and park officials want to get the word out now about where to park your vehicle.
Starting the day off on Saturday is an opening day parade. For that, you must enter from the north side near 23rd and Riverside. You can't use Gathering Place parking.
Gathering Place officials estimate 50,000 people could visit the park both Saturday and Sunday.
The park has limited parking on the grounds with 1,420 spaces at the southeast corner of 31st and Riverside.
Park officials are recommending everyone instead use free shuttles to get to and from the park this weekend.
Here’s a detailed shuttle map for @GatherTulsa. It opens Saturday at 10am and they have special shuttle hours Sat and Sun. Starting Monday, shuttles still run but on a reduced schedule. pic.twitter.com/XLPmYMYXLD— Dave Davis (@DaveDavisKOTV) September 4, 2018
Shuttles start running at 6 a.m. Saturday, and they run every few minutes from OSU-Tulsa; Tulsa County Fairgrounds, in the lot behind the Expo Hotel; and from the River Spirit Casino's triangle lot.
The shuttles run until 11 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
Monday, shuttles run from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and will run through September.
