A Tulsa firm has been selected as the construction manager for A Gathering Place for Tulsa.
The George Kaiser Family Foundation announced Monday the selection of Manhattan Construction Company to oversee the building of the project along the Arkansas River.
"We are extremely pleased to partner with a Tulsa-based firm to manage the Gathering Place construction. Manhattan Construction Company has received numerous industry honors for their work, quality and safety," said Jeff Stava, project manager for A Gathering Place. "This is the kind of trustworthy and dependable manager we feel confident will deliver world-class work."
In a news release, the foundation says Phase I of A Gathering Place for Tulsa totaling 66.5 acres will stretch from approximately 26th Street to 31st Street on the east and west sides of Riverside and continue on the west side to 33rd Place.
The foundation which has committed about $200 million to the project says Manhattan will begin work on the park late this year with Phase I set to be completed in late 2017.
