Owasso police are starting out the new year investigating a young man's homicide.

Police say the shooting actually happened on Monday which makes this Owasso's second homicide of 2019. Officers say a friend found 21-year-old Tyler Collins shot in the head in his apartment just before 11 pm on the 30th. They say they are investigating Collins' death as a homicide.

"We would take any homicide seriously but it definitely it hits a little closer to home when you've got a young guy that's just starting off his life and it came to an unfortunate end and we're certainly taking this seriously and we're going to do everything we can to find the person responsible," said Owasso Police Deputy Chief Jason Woodruff.
