Tulsa Police say three teenagers are in custody this afternoon after leading officers on a chase.
The chase ended near 27th and Yale and Tulsa Police say officers from all over the city teamed up to catch the suspects. Police say OnStar notified them about a stolen Chevy Equinox near 81st and Mingo around 3:00 Monday morning. Officers soon caught up with the juveniles in that vehicle and followed them until they stopped the SUV in a yard near 26th and Quebec.
The three teens ran off in different directions, so police set up a perimeter and caught two of the suspects while another one turned himself in. Sergeant Jeremy Ballard says On-Star played a big part in helping the officers catch up to them.
"Once we have them in sight, OnStar is able to somehow able to...not disable the vehicle but slow it down for us. Typically when that happens, they'll either come to a stop and give up and we're able to take them into custody or they run," said Sgt. Ballard.
Officers say the stolen vehicle was returned to its owner.
