The Cherokee Nation now has a new principal chief.
Hoskin is the 18th constitutionally-elected principal chief of the Cherokee Nation. He will lead 370,000 tribal citizens. He said in his inauguration speech that the tribe must work to build up the area economy and rally to save the Cherokee language.
Hoskin Jr. previously served as the tribe's Secretary of State.
