Officials say a crash involving two semi trucks closed the southbound lanes of the Muskogee Turnpike about 6 miles north of Coweta Friday morning. The wreck took place around 6:15 a.m. in Wagoner County.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said Jordan Hobbs of Springfield, Missouri was driving a 2020 Freightliner when he pulled onto the shoulder and "attempted to do a return." His truck was hit in the driver's side by the second semi, troopers said.
Hobbs, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the semi and taken to a Tulsa hospital with internal injuries. He was said to be stable.
One lane of traffic was reopened around 9:15 a.m.
Sooner Emergency Services arrived on scene to clean up from the wreck. The outside lane will remain closed during remediation, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
The other driver refused treatment at the scene, according to a collision report.
