OSBI Investigating After Officer-Involved Shooting In Bartlesville

One person is dead following an altercation that ended in an officer involved shooting Saturday night.

One person is dead following an altercation that ended in an officer-involved shooting Saturday night.

Police say they got a domestic disturbance call at about 8:00 p.m. Saturday. According to police, the caller said their son Thomas Gay was not welcome in the home and appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

Two Bartlesville Patrol Officers arrived and spoke to the father outside of the home. BPD says the Officers then entered the home to speak to Gay, who was in a back bedroom. The officers began to struggle with Gay after making contact, at which time they fired their tasers. Shortly after that police say shots were fired and Gay was wounded.

According to BPD, the officers called for back-up and medical aide. Gay was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

Bartlesville Police requested the OSBI to respond and Investigate the shooting. The two Officers involved have been placed on Administrative leave.
