A Tulsa mother is headed to prison for the rest of her life for stabbing her 10-year-old daughter, then setting the house on fire with the girl still inside.

The judge and attorneys on both sides of this case said this is one of the most egregious crimes they've ever seen.

Taheerah Ahmad told police she stabbed her 10-year-old daughter close to 100 times because she believed her daughter was plotting to kill her.

"In her interview, she said she wasn't sorry," ADA Katie Koljack said. "She at times talked about her in the past tense."

Ahmad told police, "I stabbed her in the f****** face, and she didn't die."

She said she used a switchblade, a dagger, and a garden pick to stab the little girl, then set her house on fire "to make sure" her daughter died.

"This is the worst case the public defender who's been doing this for so long has seen, that I have seen, that the judge has seen," Koljack said. "I've never seen anything like it."

In Ahmad's interview with police, she wouldn't claim two of her daughters--calling them "dirty" and "hateful."

"I think she deserves to spend her life in prison based on the injuries her children will have," Koljack said.

Ahmad's daughter told police her mom attacked her because she "looked at Ahmad funny."

The judge sentenced Ahmad to life in prison for three of her charges, plus 10 years for setting her home on fire. That means Ahmad would be around 87-years-old before she'd even be eligible for parole.

"I think the 10 years on top of that will ensure she spend the remainder of her life in prison," Koljack said.

Ahmad's attorney said she waived her right to a trial to avoid putting her daughters through the pain of testifying.

The judge said in court it was only fair for Ahmad to be sentenced to life in prison since she gave her daughter a life sentence of living with so many emotional and physical scars.
