Springtime weather is here, folks! An unsettled weather pattern continues late this week into this weekend across Green Country.
Scattered storms will continue to bubble up across eastern Oklahoma, primarily during the morning hours of our Thursday. A few of the strongest storms, particularly near and south of I-40, could produce hail along with gusty winds through lunchtime to early afternoon.
Shower and storm chances will gradually diminish during the day as a cold front shifts south across Green Country, though a spotty shower may continue to linger into mid to late afternoon. Breaks of sunshine look to return this afternoon with pleasant temperatures in the upper 60s to a few lower 70s!
Friday looks to be a calmer day, but it may get off to quite the foggy start. Dense fog is likely to develop early Friday morning, so plan ahead for that on your Friday morning commute! We do expect fog to dissipate relatively quickly by late morning Friday, and Friday afternoon looks spectacular with light winds, sunshine, and highs well into the 70s!
Another storm system arrives early this weekend with another round of storms impacting weekend plans. Scattered storms will become more likely during the day Saturday into Saturday evening, and again some will have a good chance to become severe with large hail and damaging winds possible. Just southeast of Green Country the severe weather threat may be quite a bit higher late Saturday, but the exact details are still yet to be determined. We’ll keep you advised as things become more clear, but be prepared for another severe weather possibility on Saturday!
