Recent Death Of 2009 Drive-By Shooting Victim Ruled Homicide, Tulsa Police Say

The death of an Oklahoma prisoner and drive-by shooting victim is being ruled a homicide, Tulsa police say.

Police say Elza Riley was injured in a drive-by shooting near 2700 N. Cincinnati in 2009. They say he survived and went to prison on drug charges in 2014.

Police say in December 2018, Riley had surgery while in prison and died two weeks later. The Oklahoma City Medical Examiner's Office ruled it a homicide.

This is Tulsa's 14th homicide, police say.
