Fire Destroys Collinsville Home

Fire destroyed a Collinsville home overnight.

The fire department was called to the home near 7th and Main just before 1:25 a.m. Firefighters arrived to find the garage on fire. Fire Chief Harold Call says the home is considered a total loss.

The homeowner was able to get out, but had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for some burns.

Fire investigators are now trying to figure out what caused the fire.

The Collinsville Rural Fire Department helped knock down the flames.

Chief Call says the Red Cross will help the homeowner find a place to stay.
