Today through Friday, the City of Tulsa says a new downtown street project will shift part of 3rd Street to one-way traffic.
Tulsa says workers are removing old pavement and replacing it with new asphalt on 3rd Street between Greenwood Avenue and the bridge over Highway 75.
The good news is the work will be done by Friday, so drivers won't have to deal with it for very long.
Contractors and their machines getting in place to start work here on 3rd Street from Greenwood to Hwy. 75. I just talked with a neighbor who says this street is always busy so this temporary one-way will have a big impact on downtown traffic. @NewsOn6 pic.twitter.com/JZKPzTPQOQ

The city says they have more projects like this one planned for downtown Tulsa over the next several months. That list includes repaving Archer between Guthrie and Boulder Avenues and Main Street between 6th and 15th Streets.
Cost of the entire project comes to $1,288,352. The money comes from the City's 2014 Improve Our Tulsa Third Penny Sales Tax.
Blake Parker said he's seen a lot of construction and road projects since he's lived downtown but he sees that as a good thing.
"Ever since I lived down here since March, yeah, it's been pretty constant, but I guess you can spin that in a positive that it's growing down here," said Parker.
