The four Bixby football players accused of sexually assaulting a fellow teammate will be tried as juveniles.
A hearing on Monday finalized the decision made by a judge in September to try the four as juveniles.
That means, from this point forward, any information about the case will be sealed.
The expectation is that the four will remain out of custody and will receive counseling, which could range from eight months to two years, depending on each boy’s age.
They are accused of assaulting a teammate with a pool cue at a team function last fall.
Defense attorneys had argued the four teens are perfect candidates for treatment because they have no criminal history, had no sexual intent, and the victim had no physical injuries.
Psychological evaluations indicated that the boys were all open to treatment and not likely to commit any more crimes.
