Dennis had last been seen Wednesday afternoon when he knocked on the door of a home in Braggs and explained that his pickup had gotten stuck.
The homeowner allowed him to use their phone to call a police wrecker, but when help arrived both Dennis and his truck were gone. Deputies later found Dennis's truck but he was nowhere to be found leaving just one shoe at the scene.
After a 30-hour search, crews found Dennis's body in the Arkansas River.
"We don't know the exact cause of death it is not clear, and we have not ruled anything out," said Muskogee Lt. Nick Mahoney.
"We just hope they can get some closure now that we found him. We'll be with them and anything we can do to help, that's what we'll do," said Sheriff Rob Frazier.
Deputies believe this may be a drowning but are waiting for a report from the medical examiner to determine the exact cause of death.
