Emotions were running extremely high in the courtroom Tuesday as prosecutors played the 911 call from the day 8-year-old Noah Cruz was found dead in his home.
Noah's dad, Noel Cruz loudly sobbed, stomping his feet on the floor as the recording played. He's charged with second-degree murder and possession of methamphetamine.
The witness on the stand was the family friend who found Noah and Noel unconscious inside the house and called 911. She was also crying as the tape played.
She told the jury she did not hear a car running when she went inside the house to check on them.
When asked what she wanted to see happen in this case, she said she wanted justice for Noah, and that she does not "believe it was Noel at all."
The family friend testified she thinks the landlord is to blame.
Prosecutors said Noel tested positive for meth in his system and that he left his car running with the garage door closed.
Prosecutors said the 8-year-old boy died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
The boy's mom, Zaneta Campbell is also charged with child neglect in the case.
She showed up and was escorted out of the courtroom since she's a potential witness in the trial.
