A Sand Springs woman is begging for help after someone stole her husband’s truck just hours after she buried him.
Marie Glass says to most people it’s just a beat up 1990 GMC pickup, but to her it’s beautiful and holds irreplaceable memories.
“Came out the door to take my son to the bus at 7:20 in the morning and the first thing I saw is the truck’s gone,” said Glass. “It’s got dents in it. It’s not a pretty truck, but it’s everything we had.”
Just hours after she held a funeral for her husband of 21 years, someone stole his truck, which they had just gotten recently.
“We’ve been walking for the last two years, so the truck really helped us a lot to have a way to get around and go to the store and whatever we needed to do,” Glass said.
Her husband passed away in September and now their 11-year-old son is left without the truck his father wanted to pass down to him.
“It’s pretty awful. I mean, it’s the only thing he had that he got to keep,” stated Glass. “He wanted to fix it up for when he was 16 and for it to be his first auto.”
Glass says, as a mother, it would mean the world to her to get the truck back. She says that it was her husband’s work truck and, while it may not be pretty, it’s special to them.
“If I had anything to offer for a reward, I would, but I have nothing,” she said. “I’m a single mother with no income. I have nothing. That truck is all I had.”
The family has set up a GoFundMe to help with her husband's funeral expenses.
The Sand Springs Police Department is investigating.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Sand Springs Police.
