We’re wrapping up the work week with another pleasant fall day across eastern Oklahoma! Enjoy it, because a spring-like warm-up is on the way.
Clouds are on the increase today, with overall a mix of sun and clouds expected. Temperatures look seasonable and very pleasant for our Friday, with highs generally in the upper 70s from Tulsa to the south. It should be another great day to head to the Tulsa State Fair!
But, if you’re north of Tulsa you’re in for a cooler day! Highs may struggle to climb above 70 degrees for areas closer to the Oklahoma/Kansas state line as clouds increase ahead of our next cold front.
That cold front will surge down to near the Tulsa metro tonight, stalling out around the I-44 corridor. North of that front and generally north of Tulsa, we’ll pick up a brisk northeast wind along with some areas of drizzle and light rain this evening into tonight. Drier conditions and a south breeze will continue south of Tulsa overnight.
We’ll get one more fall-like morning on Saturday with lows back in the upper 50s. That lingering front should shift quickly back to our north on Saturday, with a stronger south wind ushering in highs back around 80 degrees Saturday afternoon. That’s the start of a steady spring-like warming trend!
T-shirt weather makes a return as we head towards Sunday. Look for increasing south winds, increasing humidity, and temperatures well above normal on Sunday with highs in the mid 80s. Our temperatures will steadily continue to climb as we head into next week, with highs moving into the upper 80s by the middle of the week! For you fall-weather lovers, it will likely take us several days until we see our next good fall cold front, potentially sometime next weekend.
