The mother of a man shot and killed by a Tulsa Police officer on Christmas Day, 2017, has filed a lawsuit in her son's death. Kimberley Flannagan is suing the City of Tulsa and Officer Jairo Calle on behalf of her son Jacob Craig's estate.
Craig was 31 when he was killed during a confrontation with police. Officers say a resident in the area of 11th and Utica called them to say a man was running down the street naked and carrying a gun.

When Calle arrived on scene, TPD said he told Craig to stop and put the gun down but Craig pointed it at the officer instead. Calle then shot and killed Craig.
The lawsuit alleges Calle used excessive and unnecessary force. Flannagan is suing for damages in excess of $75,000.
News On 6 interviewed Flannagan after her son's death. She said her son was mentally ill, and if police had better training in handling people with mental illness, her son might have survived the encounter.
