A Pittsburg County man was convicted this week in the 2016 drowning death of his daughter. A jury found Devin Sizemore guilty of first-degree murder and assault and battery on a police officer, according to the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation.
Prosecutors say police found Sizemore on July 15, 2016, standing near a pond in Krebs and his daughter, Emily Sizemore, floating in the pond. Police say Sizemore, 23, fought with them as they pulled the girl's body from the pond and arrested him.
Emily was unresponsive and died later at the hospital.

Court records say Devin Sizemore told investigators he wanted to baptize his daughter because of all the evil in the world.
Police looked for the two after family reported Sizemore claimed he was God and that his daughter was with God.
The jury has recommended life without parole.
