When officers arrived, they say Cody Laymon was cursing and attempting to hit people inside the home. Officers attempted to place Laymon under arrest, but he began to yell at officers and ignored commands.
After officers cuffed Laymon, they say he continued to resist by trying to make himself “dead weight” struggling as officers attempted to pull him up.
Officers say Laymon continued to struggle as he was being placed in the patrol car. An officer deployed his taser in an effort to make Laymon comply. According to the officer's account, Laymon then threw himself into the backseat while he kicked an officer in the chest.
Laymon was transported to David L. Moss Correctional Facility on multiple complaints, including Assault and Battery on a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest.
