A traveling arthropod zoo returned to Tulsa County on Saturday.
For the second year, the “Bugging Out” Arthropod Zoo stopped by the Ray Harral Nature Center in Broken Arrow and gave visitors a chance to see a variety of bug species.
The free event featured entomology experts to explain the roles bugs play in the ecosystem. There were also prizes given away to children who dressed up as their favorite bug.
The traveling zoo is hosted by Oklahoma State University's Insect Adventure. In addition to “Bugging Out” OSU’s Insect Adventure also has a facility in Stillwater open to visitors. The program educates children and adults about insects, spiders, and other arthropods, and the importance of bugs in our world.
