Officers arrested Tyler Thomison, Thomas Alexander, and a 17-year-old boy for the murder of 53-year-old Gregory Meidl.
"What we were able to see on video is how quickly kids are out at night going car to car trying to steal items can turn into somebody using a weapon to kill somebody," said Bartlesville Police Captain Jay Hastings.
Hastings said surveillance video also helped them to identify the car the suspects were driving. Police spotted Thomison driving in Nowata and pulled him over.
"He was arrested at that time for being apart of that homicide incident," Hastings said.
That arrest eventually led police to the others. During their investigation, officers found stolen property and two guns. Police said the suspects are no strangers to the law.
"They were on our list of people that we wanted to check yesterday when we started putting a list together of people who fit the description of the people we were seeing on the video," Hastings said.
Neighbors said the news of the murder is shocking, and they hope these arrests will bring peace back into their community.
"To find out this is just a total shock. That just doesn't happen," said neighbor Abbey Blankenship.
"I was thinking about it today and I didn't know if they would catch them. So, I'm really really happy that they're off the streets," neighbor Jennifer Ely said.
The suspects are scheduled to make their first court appearance Tuesday.
