A man is in custody after crashing his vehicle into an Owasso home while eluding police.
"I heard sirens and then I heard a crash," said Pat Maltby
Maltby and her husband James had a front row seat to a police chase that ended with the driver smashing a car into a house hurting himself and the people inside.
"My first reaction was when she said she heard the sound and then I heard all the sirens. I said that sounds like a chase," said James Maltby.
The crash happened around 2:30 Saturday afternoon in the Elm Creek neighborhood in Owasso. James Maltby says he heard the sirens and came outside to see a man running across his yard from the police.
"He bumped my shoulder a little bit as he went by me. I just grabbed him by the arm and said hey where you going?" said James.
Within minutes James says officers placed Antonio Velasco under arrest. Police say the chase started near 86th Street North. An officer saw Velasco driving recklessly and tried to pull him over. Police say instead Velasco sped off and officers pursued.
"They were right here on the scene. Had the situation in hand in like no time," said James.
"I can't believe that he ran through the house like that. I'd think that cars drive fast on this street but never like that," said Pat.
The people inside the home were taken to the hospital, their conditions are not known at this time. Velasco was also taken to the hospital and is now in jail on complaints of DUI Injury/Accident and Eluding Police.
