A big adoption event at Tulsa Animal Welfare is just days away, and through a partnership with the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals and Midtown Kia, the adoption fee is a little cheaper than usual.

Dogs and cats looking for a home have had health checks and are ready to be placed with a brand-new owner.

They said the overpopulation comes from animals not being either spayed or neutered, which actually goes against a city ordinance.

“There are a lot of resources out there for low-cost clinics. And if they need any information for they can always email us or call us," said Koty Vincent with Oklahoma Alliance for Animals.

Saturday, July 14, 2018, from 11:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., during the Adopt a Little Okie event, the price of adoption will be less than normal.

Dogs are normally $75 but they will be $50, and cats are normally $25 but they will be just $15.

"This is a special Adopt a Little Okie event that Oklahoma Alliance for Animals and Midtown Kia are partnering up and sponsoring some of the adoption fees," said Vincent.

On Saturday, you can come to the play yard, interact with the animals and find your new best friend.

In addition to a new pet, each new owner will get a microchip, a pet ID tag and a goody bag as well.

The event is at Tulsa Animal Welfare at 3031 North Erie.
