With the primary election just days away, voters like Brittany Young want to remind others that the fight for education funding isn't over.

"We want to remind everybody what the walkout was about and bring that back to the forefront right before the primaries," said Young

Brittany is a part of an organization called Pass the Torch. Organizers hosted the School House Rock Event today at Guthrie Green to give voters the information they need to make an educated decision on which candidates are supporters of public education on this election.

"It's important to put people into office who understand the importance of funding education, valuing teachers and paying them appropriately," said Young.

Chris Young is an English teacher at Union High School. He says the lack of education funding has affected the sizes of his classrooms.

"If your kids are in public school, this should be something that's important to you."

Chris says voting for candidates who are pro-public education will help our schools and in turn help our community.

"It's important to be an educated voter so that you can vote for candidates that are pro-education," Said Chris

Organizers say voters must remember that all children deserve the brightest of futures.
