Pilots were forced to land a Delta plane at the Tulsa International Airport after an unruly passenger caused a disturbance.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office is now looking into whether the passenger, identified as Bolutife Olorunda, 29, of Washington violated any federal law.

In a statement, U.S. Attorney Trent Shores said:

“Today, a Delta flight traveling from Portland to Atlanta was diverted to Tulsa due to the alleged conduct of an unruly passenger. Federal Air Marshals on the plane successfully deescalated and controlled the situation, and the flight landed in Tulsa without further incident. The passenger-at-issue has been taken into custody. Law enforcement officials with the Federal Bureau of Investigation will investigate this matter moving forward. The Transportation Security Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, and Tulsa International Airport authorities assisted in the response and initial investigation.

"The United States Attorney’s Office will review whether the alleged unruly conduct violated federal law. I am thankful no one was hurt and that the other passengers may resume their travel to their intended destination. I commend the Federal Air Marshals who reacted decisively in this situation. Their efforts – combined with the resulting joint investigation – remind us all that our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners are working together to ensure the safety and security of the traveling public.”

Delta Flight 1156 was en-route to Atlanta from Portland when it was diverted to Tulsa to get the unruly passenger off the plane.

"We have an unruly passenger and we need to get on the ground now," we hear from plane communication.

A viewer sent us video of the passenger believed to have caused the disturbance being taken off the plane in handcuffs. A few moments later, Olorunda was brought through the terminal and down to security.

Meagan: “You want to tell us what happened?”
Man: “We pay for our sins. God is coming…revelation."

Delta released a statement saying, "The flight landed without incident in Tulsa and the customer was met by law enforcement. Delta is working to prepare the aircraft to continue on to Atlanta. Delta apologizes to our customers delayed by this diversion."

One passenger on the plane emailed our CBS affiliate in Portland saying while in flight he heard a few outbursts from the rows ahead. Moments later the announcement was made that the flight was being diverted.

No one was hurt and the Justice Department is praising the Federal Air Marshalls for their handling of the situation.

Airport police along with the TSA and FBI are also investigating.
