Fresh produce delivered right to your door is something more and more folks are trying, and liking.
But how about a delivery service that gives back.
Ben and Ashley Neal operate Sage Farm in Glenpool, and they oversee Local Farm OK, home delivery of fresh produce.
They've been at this home delivery thing for a couple of years and have more than 1,300 clients.
They grow leafy greens hydroponically, in huge towers. 60,000 plants of different varieties
The seeds are planted in rock wool cubes using a vacuum-assisted device. When they sprout, they go in the tower. 6 weeks or so and it's ready to harvest.
In another greenhouse next door, 600 tomato plants are growing in soil. They've discovered the flavor is better. They grow 'em year 'round.
How do you pollinate them when there are no bees you might ask? Electric toothbrushes.
Fresh produce to your door year 'round and they're working with Jenks Schools on a give-back program, with a percentage of parent and teacher sales going back to the school.
