Claremore’s Blue Star Mothers desperately needs help sending care packages to our troops overseas.

The organization said it needs food and cash donations to make their care packages possible.

The volunteer group relies on donations and is constantly fundraising, but, right now, the group says it's just not enough.

The Tulsa Air National Guard just deployed more than 100 men and women last week and the Blue Star Mothers would like to keep the care packages coming.

They're asking for non-perishable food like oatmeal, Ramen noodles, peanut butter and beef jerky. The volunteers are also collecting things like magazines and games for down time.

Aside from the cost of filling each care package, every box costs $18 to ship overseas.

You can drop off donations at 518 North JM Davis Boulevard, or, you can mail cash donations to PO Box 14, Claremore, OK 74018.

You can also call 918-343-2675 for more information.
