Rain or shine, there’s always a way to have a good time.
Jane Fest continues downtown on Saturday. More than 40 bands and djs are featured at the 21 and older event. Three stages will hold the performances through the day starting at noon and lasting through the night. Tickets for Saturday are $25.
Saturday is record store day and stores around Tulsa are making a party out of it. Some stores are hosting live music, food, and drinks. Some of the stores joining the celebration are Spinster Records, Josey Records, Blue Moon Discs, Holy Mountain Music, and Starship Records.
Local firefighters take on local police in the fifth annual Smoke and Guns Charity MMA and Boxing event on Saturday. Tulsa’s best will go toe-to-toe in the BOK Center to benefit the Oklahoma Firefighters Burn Camp and Oklahoma Special Olympics. Last year the event raised more than $30,000 for charity. Doors open Saturday at 6 p.m.
The Tulsa Zoo is celebrating Earth Day a day early with Party for the Planet. Starting at 10:00 Saturday morning, the zoo is hosting activities to demonstrate what they’re doing to conserve and protect wildlife. Party for the Planet activities are included with regular zoo admission.
The 29th annual Herbal Affair and Festival is happening Saturday in downtown Sand Springs. This year’s event showcases more than 100 plant, herb, arts, crafts, food, and wine vendors from around the four-state area. There will also be a handful of live musical performances.
A galaxy far, far away is coming to the Tulsa Air and Space Museum. The museum is hosting two showings Saturday of Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. Showtimes are 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. In addition to the movie, there will also be characters from the films, as well as crafts and games for younger guests. You’re encouraged to dress up, but asked to leave weapon replicas at home.
