Hit-And-Run Suspect Blames Mechanical Defect For Crash, TPD Says

Tulsa police have found a hit-and-run suspect they say hit two vehicles and a Sonic building last Friday. 

Police say 38-year-old Dustin Clemmer of Sperry hit two vehicles, a light pole, a dumpster, and a Sonic building before fleeing the scene Friday.

Clemmer told police his car had a mechanical defect which caused all of the chaos and that he fled because he was scared. 

He was charged with 4 counts of hit and run in addition to one count each of reckless driving. He was also charged with driving without a license or insurance.

Reports say he was released pending his promise to appear in court.
