Many Mannford teachers, parents and students are headed to the capitol Monday morning.
April 2 was already scheduled for a teacher professional development day, but the superintendent tells News On 6 teachers are allowed to walk out.
He says he’ll be at the rally in OKC, too.
Before they left about 50 people met for a rally at the town’s community center to talk about the days ahead.
The district hasn’t approved any other days off, so teachers suggest using sick or personal days.
They also say parents can help by not sending their kids to school, but sending them to the capital instead so they can be an active part of this historic event for education funding.
