Tulsa Bridge Replacement Closes Northbound Highway 75 At 41st Street Exit

Replacing a bridge on Highway 75 just south of downtown Tulsa means drivers are now having to use a detour to get around the construction project.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation closed down the northbound lanes of 75 just after 7 a.m. Monday. The closure of those northbound lanes will impact drivers for several months.

ODOT say it is replacing a bridge over Southwest Boulevard. That means, the highway is shut down from the northbound 41st Street exit up to the Red Fork Split.

They are warning drivers to plan ahead.

"It'll probably take a couple of days for traffic to adjust to the new route, so drivers really need to plan ahead for Monday, and especially Tuesday, for that first real test of the rush-hour traffic," ODOT spokesperson Kenna Mitchell said.

Officials said the detour for northbound traffic is to exit at I-44, head west to I-244, where you will go east and meet up with Highway 75 at the Red Fork Split. 

The department expects the work will keep those lanes closed through July.
