Teacher Rally On Thursday In Downtown Tulsa

A rally for teachers is planned for Thursday in downtown Tulsa.

It will be held at 3rd and Main at noon.

Mayor G.T. Bynum and City Councilor Phil Lakin are among the speakers.

"We want to support our teachers, and encourage our legislators to burn the midnight oil and come up with a solution so we do not have to go through a walkout," said Lakin.

Lakin says the walkout would have a huge economic impact, as some parents stay home from work to care for children, or leave them home alone.
