Owasso Man Accused Of Showing Obscene Image To Child

A man is in jail right now after Owasso police say he showed an 8-year-old girl a nude picture of himself while she was shopping with her family at Walmart. 

Joseph Kleber's arrest affidavit says he planned the incident with the intent to go to Walmart and show nude pictures to a child. 

Owasso police say a woman and her grandchildren were shopping in the toy section at Walmart last Friday, when her 8-year-old granddaughter stepped over to the next aisle, alone. 

That's when officers say 59-year-old Kleber showed the girl a nude picture of himself.

Police say the girl screamed and ran back to her grandmother who reported it to Walmart employees.

By the time police got there, they say Kleber was already gone.

Within an hour after releasing a surveillance picture, officers were able to identify him.

Owasso Police Deputy Chief Jason Woodruff says everyone, including the 8-year-old girl, reacted in the best way they could by getting police involved right away. 

"Really proud of this little girl that spoke up, screamed, got a hold of her grandmother. Everyone did what they were supposed to do in this one," said Owasso Police Deputy Chief Jason Woodruff. 

Officers say it's possible there are other victims, not just in Owasso but throughout the area.
