Tulsa's MeadowBrook Golf Course Sold

South Tulsa's MeadowBrook Golf Course is under new ownership. The club manager confirmed the club has been sold but wouldn't say any more than that. 

Club members said they've been trying to buy the country club for a couple of years, but couldn't. They found out Tuesday it's been sold, and the plan is to build homes at the course located at 9300 East 81st Street.

MeadowBrook dates back more than 60 years.

Club members tell us that it's still a wonderful course, but the club has struggled to turn that into lots of new membership. The general manager of the club, Chris Ferguson, confirmed the sale and the plan to build houses on the property.

The course will not immediately close - in fact it's at least a year away.  Many members are upset - some because of the history, or the investment they've made.

Some members are organizing opposition - hoping to prevent the rezoning that would be needed for homes to go in here. The transaction is not final - but the closing is scheduled this month.

The manager here confirms the plan is to keep everything open until the new owners determine exactly what they'll build out here.
