Road Work Set To Begin On 51st Street Between Sheridan And Memorial

Beginning Monday, a new construction project along 51st between Sheridan and Memorial is going to impact your drive until next year.

Construction will go from 51st and Sheridan to 51st and Memorial. The plan is to take off the top layer of the road and replace it with new asphalt. Workers are planning on getting through this project a half mile at a time. 

During the project, traffic will be limited to one eastbound lane and one westbound lane.

All storm sewers and 50 percent of sidewalks will be replaced as well. All of the work will cost more than $900,000. 

Funding comes from the 2014 Improve Our Tulsa fund. The project is scheduled to be finished January 2018.
