The Owasso High School softball team had a very special guest at its game Thursday.
Thomas Begay, a World War II veteran and one of the original Navajo Code Talkers, was on hand to throw out the first pitch.
It was part of a special recognition by the team of the military and veterans.
"Makes me feel good that the young people are playing and they're very interested in a game of any kind in high school," Begay said.
A 100-person choir sang the national anthem and the Honor Guard from Tinker Air Force Base presented the colors.
Veterans got special recognition with gifts at the beginning of the game.
