A Green Country man says he was shot at not once but twice, as he was driving to work Friday.
Truck driver Karl Thiessen said he's had rocks and bricks thrown at him while on the road, but never anything like this.
"One right here on the roof looks like it hit, ricocheted, the other ones right here on top of my roof, where it look like they might have shot straight down," Thiessen said.
Around 2 am Friday morning, Thiessen was on his way to work in his personal truck on I-244 near Harvard when all of a sudden he said he was shot at not once but twice.
"I heard an explosion, never heard a gunshot, just heard an explosion. My glass exploded, and heard an explosion inside the cab of my truck." Thiessen said.
He said he pulled over to the side of the road and saw two kids standing on the pedestrian bridge looking at him.
That's when he saw the hole in his roof and the broken windshield.
"I thought they must have shot me they might try to shoot me again so I got back in my truck and called 911". Thiessen said.
When he got to work, he says he was really shaken up.
He said, "The percussion was so loud, my right ear has been ringing all day".
Tulsa Police confirm to News On Six they did receive a shots fired call in that area.
Thiessen believes the way he was sitting saved his life. He was leaning to the left when he heard the glass break.
If he had been leaning to the right, he thinks he would have been shot.
"They could have killed me. I've got four kids, five grandkids, you know that's a scary thought." Thiessen said.
