A crew from East Central Oklahoma's Electrical Co-op is heading to Georgia to prepare for hurricane Irma.

They're among several Oklahoma electric crews heading to Metter, Georgia, which is near Savannah.

The crews from Oklahoma need to get to Georgia before Irma hits so they can go right to work once the hurricane moves out.

They also say resources are limited nationwide after Hurricane Harvey hit Texas, so that's why a community in Georgia reached out to Oklahomans for help.

And GRDA is sending 30 people to Lakeland, Florida.

That group will leave tomorrow morning.
