Work is underway on a new traffic project that may help with some of the congestion near Jenks Northwest Elementary School.
That construction will add a right-turn lane on South Elwood Avenue to turn east at West 71st Street. The City of Tulsa said it will help with traffic at the new Jenks elementary, a half mile south, but road work is scheduled to happen during the school day - from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
City officials say work hours for this project will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lanes will reopen in the evenings.
Completion of this project is scheduled for Tuesday, September 5th. The City said you should be ready not only for lane closures but occasional street closures as well.
