Sand Springs Teen In Possession Of Gun At Football Field, Police Say

Sand Springs Police took a 14-year-old boy into custody after they said he was in possession of a gun at the high school football field.

In a news release, police said officers were called to the stadium by school officials who had information a 14-year-old student had a gun in his backpack.

School officials located the backpack in a locker at the football field and called police.

They said there is no evidence the gun was going to be used to harm any students.

The teen was taken into custody and transported to the juvenile detention center.
