Two people were arrested after a 2-year-old girl tested positive for methamphetamine.
According to the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were asked to assist DHS workers with a welfare check of the child following the positive test.
Deputies said they went to a home in the Foyil area, but no one was home.
They said while they were there, a Mustang arrived at the home. Two adults were in the vehicle with a 2-year-old girl.
The driver was identified as the child’s mother, Elizabeth Gourley, and the passenger as Justin Sullivan.
Deputies said both Gourley and Sullivan were seen to have “uncontrollable body movements and excited rapid speech.”
A bag with a crystallized substance was found by deputies, the arrest report says, and was filed tested and came back “presumptive positive for methamphetamine.”
Gourley admitted to deputies she had taken meth earlier in the day and that she had a drug problem, the arrest report says.
Deputies arrested Gourley on complaints of driving while under the influence while endangering a child, possession in the presence of a child, child neglect and child endangerment. Sullivan was arrested for possession of meth in the presence of a minor, child neglect and public intoxication.
Deputies said the child was taken into protective custody.
