Rogers High School seniors gathered for a special breakfast on the first day of school on Monday.
The students were up bright and early for the Senior Sunrise Breakfast, which is an RHS tradition.
Rogers High School seniors gathered here at the break of dawn today for the senior sunrise breakfast. It's something teachers say can set the tone for the entire year."
It's the first day of school, but seniors at Rogers High School are already dreaming of putting on that cap and gown.
But Kezia Fox said they still love being a part of traditions like the senior sunrise breakfast.
"When the seniors are excited about being Ropers and about being back at school, the freshmen and the sophomores and the juniors, they see that," said senior sponsor Stephanie Brucks.
Teachers said these are traditions they hope will continue in the years to come.
"We have deep traditions already embedded here at Rogers, and we just want them to have their experience here and want to come back and be proud of their school," said senior sponsor Tina Ham. "We're proud to be Ropers. This is a great school!"
After the seniors finished breakfast, they walked around and handed out Mardi Gras beads to all the underclassmen as just another way to keep spirits high on the first day of school.
