An Owasso man was injured when he fell asleep at the wheel of a box truck Thursday morning in Tulsa, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Troopers said Marcus West was eastbound on Interstate 44 near the Mingo exit when his truck drifted off the roadway and hit a sign around 11:40 a.m. July 27.

The truck flipped on its side. The 34-year-old driver was thrown about two feet from the vehicle, a collision report states. Troopers said he wasn't wearing a seat belt.

West was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he is said to be stable with head, trunk, arm and leg injuries.
